Sunderland v Middlesbrough

Moyes to get his first home win as Black Cats Manager – 2.87 with Bet365.
It’s a North-East Derby! Sunderland and Middlesbrough lock horns in the first Premier League Tees-Wear derby since 2009.
Both clubs come into this looking for their first win of the season after Sunderland were beaten at City (2-1) while Middlesbrough, on their return to the top flight, drew at home to Stoke City (1-1).
It’s been some time since Middlesbrough have beaten the Black Cats in the Premiership. They’ve had a busy summer bringing in no less than 11 players who might take a while to gel as a team.
Sunderland on the other hand, have bought in 5 players including some real quality mixed in with League experience – Papy Djilobodji (Chelsea), Paddy McNair, Donald Love and Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United) and Steven Pienaar (Everton).
It remains to be seen the impact that Moyes can have at Sunderland but they do appear to be his “type of club”, a club that would be stoked with a top-half finish. I think he’s in with a good shout of getting his first win as home manager at the Stadium Of Light.
It’s a small and old sample with one clear stat – 3 of 4 matches featured Both Teams to Score, available today at 1.95 if you are so inclined.
There’s been a first-half goal in 3 of the 4 games although today could be very tight, who could forget the Moyes strategy at Everton of holding on in the 1st half before seeking the winner in the 2nd half. Happy to stay out.
