Chelsea have allowed Bertrand Traore to join Ajax on a season-long loan, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old was handed his Blues debut in December of last season, but while it looked as if that might become a regular occurrence, he clearly isn’t yet part of Antonio Conte’s plans.
As for Ajax, they have brought in the striker to fill the void left by Arkadiusz Milik, who in turn departed for Napoli to replace Gonzalo Higuain.
Traore is already an international with Burkina Faso and he also has plenty of experience in the Eredivisie, so in a sense, he is a player ahead of his years even if he hasn’t been given a chance to fulfil his development at Chelsea.
In his previous spell at Vitesse, he scored 16 goals in just 14 games, so he will be hoping to reproduce that with Ajax.
Chelsea have little room for him this season following the signing of Michy Batshuayhi, but there’s every chance we’ll be seeing plenty of Traore in the future.
It remains to be seen whether Ajax will continue to pursue Mario Balotelli.
