Premier League trio interested in Swansea ace

Herrera et André Ayew

West Ham are currently beating Liverpool and Chelsea to the signing of Swansea striker Andre Ayew, according to the Essex Chronicle.

The Hammers are on the lookout for a new striker because Diafra Sakho is intent on leaving the club, while Andy Carroll’s woeful injury record means they cannot rely on him as a lone striker.

The Ghanaian scored 12 goals for the Swans last season, a feat which has drawn attention from two of the Premier League’s heavyweights.

West Ham are also being linked with Andre’s brother, Jordan Ayew of Aston Villa, who was one of the few bright sparks in his side’s dismal season, which of course ended with relegation.

But it is the Swansea man who is now one of their chief targets. The Sun believe that Antonio Conte also wants him at Chelsea, while Metro are suggesting that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen too.

West Ham would usually be pleased with beating that kind of competition for a player. The only frustrating element in all this is that Slaven Bilic first identified him last summer, when West Ham would have been able to sign him for free.

Now, they could have to pay as much as £16million for him, but it could be a price worth paying if he makes the difference in getting Bilic’s men into Europe again.
