For many Manchester United fans, the next time they want to hear of Paul Pogba is when he officially signs for the Red Devils.
The Frenchman’s proposed move to Old Trafford has become the summer’s most protracted transfer saga, though that’s hardly surprising given that it is expected to reach the £100million mark.
The 23-year-old has been the subject of what seems like constant speculation this transfer window, but for those who are getting sick of it, there’s one man to blame for why the deal is being dragged out.
According to the Daily Mail, there is a dispute between Juventus and United over who should pay agent Mino Raiola’s fee, which is believed to be £18.4million.
That certainly clears up why Raiola’s so keen to get Pogba on the move, but it could be some time before either club concedes defeat on this one.
The pair are clearly incredibly close, having been pictured on holiday together in Miami.
It’s fair to say, though, that Raiola has something of a vested interest in this deal going ahead. Juve don’t see why they should have to pay his cut when they would be quite happy to keep Pogba in Turin, while United are baulking at the fee.
The agent has received a ridiculous amount of attention this summer, not least because he also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, United’s newest additions.
It was always going to be the case that Raiola would be at the heart of this deal, but if he continues to hold up the deal, then Pogba’s not going to be a happy man.
