For Leicester City, this summer was always going to be about keeping hold of their prize assets.

Jamie Vardy’s decision to snub Arsenal may have grabbed the headlines, but he’s not the only one who’s decided to stay at the King Power.

Liverpool target Ben Chilwell is now set to turn down Jurgen Klopp and sign a five-year deal with the Foxes, according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds offered Leicester £7million for his services, a bid which was rejected, and he has evidently now decided to stay with the Premier league champions.

Leicester are also hoping to keep hold of Kasper Schmeichel, who Everton are interested in, while Claudio Ranieri must also persuade Riyad Mahrez to sign a new deal amid rumours linking him with Arsenal.

Danny Drinkwater is also set to be offered a new deal, but while Chilwell may not be the most high-profile player to commit his future to the club, it is still an important step for Leicester.

Liverpool are looking for a left-back to replace the hapless Alberto Moreno, so they may now turn their full attention to Germany’s Jonas Hector.
