Manchester City spent much of the early summer being linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Any potential deal seems to have just fizzled out, but that could be because the Gabon player didn’t have much interest in moving to the Etihad.
In fact, he’s now revealed that he would only consider leaving BVB if one particular club made an offer, and it’s not City.
“The only club to leave Borussia Dortmund for is Real Madrid. But not now”, he said, according to Eurosport.
Aubameyang scored 39 goals in 46 appearances last season, an incredible feat that has seen him attract attention from Europe’s top clubs.
Real have had a relatively quiet summer, perhaps having mainly focused on bringing in Paul Pogba. That’s unlikely to happen now, but it’s still clearly unlikely that Aubameyang would move to the Bernabeu in the immediate future.
And even Pep Guardiola clearly isn’t tempting him to the Premier League, though City have already brought in two high-profile signings in Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito.
