Manchester City are in pole position to sign Brazilian sensation Gabriel Jesus, according to the Mirror.
The 19-year-old is attracting attention from a host of Europe’s top clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain City’s most likely rivals for his signature, but with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan all keeping a watchful eye over his situation.
The Palmeiras star, who scored 10 goals in 14 games last season, could cost as much as £20million plus bonuses, but Pep Guardiola is happy to pay that for a player who is being tipped as one of the future stars of world football.
Barca made a bid of £12million several months back, but Gabriel is now expected to cost more because he is in such high demand.
Visa issues prevented him travelling to the USA for the Copa America, which would have given Sky Blues fans the perfect opportunity to see what they would be getting.
However, despite his talent, City are unlikely to put him straight into the first team and it is likely he could be loaned out, possibly even back to Brazil, in his first season.
