Arsenal are considering both Manchester City’s Jason Denayer and Borussia Dortmund’s Matthias Ginter as defensive options, according to the Sun.
Denayer is reportedly considering a move away from the Etihad because his chances of first team football next season are limited. Pep Guardiola is continuing his pursuit of Italy international Leonardo Bonucci with another bid of around £38million.
That would leave Denayer further down the pecking order, particularly as he had a difficult summer with Belgium.
Marc Wilmots’ former side crashed out of Euro 2016 to Wales, with Denayer at fault for one of the goals as he was the victim of Hal Robson-Kanu’s spectacular Cruyff-turn.
He is unlikely to have impressed Guardiola with that performance, but it doesn’t seem to have deterred Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners boss is considering the 21-year-old as one option, while Dortmund’s Ginter is another.
Wenger has been monitoring 22-year-old Ginter for some time, and the player knows Per Mertesacker well from his time with the German national side.
