Arsenal are making it crystal clear they have no intention of selling Alexis Sanchez this summer.
According to the Mirror, Juventus have had a £34million bid rejected for the Chilean – despite the fact that it was the Gunners who named that price for him in the first place.
The Serie A champions’ sporting director Giuseppe Marotta told the newspaper:
“Sanchez is a great player, but Arsenal do not want to give him up.
“We informed the Gunners, who asked for £34m – surely a reasonable fee.
“However, when we responded to this request, Arsenal told us they will not sell the player.”
Juventus are keen to sign another attacker to replace Alvaro Morata, who recently went back to Real Madrid.
With the inflated prices in the transfer market, £34million doesn’t seem overly expensive for Sanchez, but it will clearly take more than that to prise him away from the Emirates.
The player is understood to be growing frustrated at Arsenal, as it is now 12 years since they last won the league.
And yet, his future may be out of his hands, as until Arsene Wenger signs someone up front, there is no way he is going to allow the club’s prize asset to leave.
