Robin van Persie could be on his way back to the Premier League

Manchester United signed RvP 18 months ago but it was at Arsenal that he made his name as a world class striker. A stop start season for RvP. But he's still amongst the best finishers in the game.

Arsenal’s summer transfer window is never a straightforward business.

Arsene Wenger loves to surprise everyone, and he could be lining up one of the shocks of the summer.

It looks as if Robin Van Persie is on his way out of Fenerbahce and in a bizarre twist, the Independent report that Arsenal could be interested in a reunion.

If there’s one thing about Wenger, it’s that he loves to look backwards, not forwards. That’s fair enough, since he hasn’t won the league for over a decade, but re-signing RVP isn’t going to solve his problems.

Of course, the Dutchman’s most recent Premier League stint was with Manchester United, before he was offloaded by Louis van Gaal.

West Ham, Everton, and Crystal Palace are the three other English clubs interested in the forward, but that is a little more understandable.

There’s no doubt RVP still has goals in him, but Wenger needs to start thinking long-term, not looking to a player in his thirties, even if he is available on a free transfer.
