Hull City are interested in bringing Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason to the KC in a £10million deal, according to the Sun.
The arrival of Victor Wanyama has all but sealed Mason’s fate, with the one-cap England midfielder enduring a strained relationship with fans in his final season after some underwhelming performances.
Spurs is a familiar scouting ground for Hull, who already have ex-Lilywhites Tom Huddlestone, Michael Dawson, and Jake Livermore on their books.
Mason has previously been linked with Bournemouth, but newly-promoted Hull would be just as good a destination for him.
Despite coming through Spurs’ academy, fans haven’t warned to him as he perhaps would have liked. Hull would be more his level, and as they have a fairly experienced and talented squad, they could well beat the drop in their first season back in the top flight.
£10million may seem a high price considering Mason is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, but in today’s market, Hull will have to pay that kind of money if they want any quality at all.
