Arsenal are offering Alvaro Morata a massive incentive to join the club by offering to double his wages.
AS are reporting that Morata has told Real Madrid he wants a guarantee of a first-team place and a huge increase in his salary if he is to stay at the Bernabeu.
That shouldn’t perturb Real too much, as they have never seemed that intent on keeping the Spain international, as they only bought him back from Juventus to sell him on for a profit.
Arsenal will offer Morata around £144,000 a week to move to the Emirates, as boss Arsene Wenger comes under increasing pressure to sign a world-class striker.
Oddly enough, his capture of Takuma Asano from the Japanese J-League hasn’t seemed to calm fans, who insist only a big name will do.
The Gunners’ strike force has been neglected for too long, and with Jamie Vardy turning them down a fortnight ago, they have had to consider other options.
Morata would be a huge signing, albeit an expensive one, if Arsenal can beat the host of other clubs interested in the Spain international to his signature.
