Chelsea have confirmed via their official website that Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato will leave the club after their loan spells came to an end.
The imminent arrival of striker Michy Batshuayi may well have sealed their fate, as new boss Antonio Conte looks to cut some of the dead wood out of his squad.
The club now need to ensure they adopt a more coherent transfer policy, as neither Pato or Falcao were really given any chance at the club.
Pato’s signing certainly raised a few eyebrows, as he made just 1 appearance in the Premier League – though, ironically, with his 1 goal in that game, he has a 100% goal to game rate, as per whoscored.com.
Falcao was a similarly pointless signing and one which Chelsea’s hierarchy really should have seen coming after his disappointing loan spell at Manchester United.
Both players started their careers with such promise, but their moves to England have certainly not gone to plan.
