Leicester have still not seen the back of Arsene Wenger even after Jamie Vardy agreed to stay at the King Power.
That’s because, as the Daily Mail are reporting, Arsenal are still keen on signing Vardy’s team-mate, French holding midfielder N’golo Kante.
Wenger has previously warned that Kante is likely to leave Leicester this summer, so he may as well capitalise on the situation himself.
Kante won plenty of admirers for his role in Leicester’s shock title triumph and it appears the Gunners boss was among them.
The north Londoners have already signed Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer and that made a move for Kante look more unlikely.
Yet, Wenger could potentially pair Xhaka and Kante together, which would make the Gunners midfield truly formidable.
Arsenal’s priority should be signing or at the very least loaning a striker to cover for injured Danny Welbeck, who won’t play again this year.
In fact, fans are growing increasingly frustrated with Wenger’s confused priorities, so while Kante would be a welcome addition to their squad, he is arguably not what they should be spending money on.
