Former Spurs midfielder Niko Kranjcar is to undergo a medical at Rangers, according to BBC Sport.
The 31-year-old is a free agent, having been released by New York Cosmos – the side Pele famously played for – at the end of the season.
Kranjcar became a surprise favourite during his time at White Hart Lane, often being used by then-manager Harry Redknapp as an impact substitution.
He scored 11 goals in 72 appearances, which is not bad for a player of his position.
The Croat has a wealth of experience, having also played for Portsmouth, Queens Park Rangers, and Dynamo Kiev.
It is his connections at QPR that seem to have landed him a shot in the Scottish Premiership, as he will join two more former Loftus Road players in Joey Barton and Clint Hill.
Rangers need all the experience they get as they venture back into the top flight for the first time since being liquidated and reformed.
Kranjcar, who played 81 times for Croatia, is the perfect man to offer them that – and he can add some much-needed Premier League quality into Scotland’s ailing division.
