Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to sign Italy pair Leonardo Bonucci and Antonio Candreva, according to the Sun.
The paper reports that signing both would cost the Blues around £57million, though at present they may be left with only Bonucci.
Bonucci has reportedly agreed to a deal already, which will see him earn £130,000 a week.
The Juventus centre-back will cost around £32million, so he is the more expensive signing of the two, but that deal is gathering pace much faster than the Candreva one.
Candreva, a 29-year-old winger from Lazio, is stalling because he is considering staying in Italy with a move to Inter Milan.
It’s likely that Conte will be more concerned with Bonucci, who has been impressive for Italy at the Euros so far, with Gli Azzurri yet to concede a goal.
Manchester United are also interested, but Conte’s relationship with Bonucci is likely to give him the edge over Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils.
Chelsea are in desperate need of another defender with question marks over several of their current first team, and it is expected he will link up with Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma next season.
