Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford has finally decided to call it quits at Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old has been at the club since 2012 but has been sent on loan five times, most recently to Norwich City.
The Blues gave a number of young players an opportunity in the first team last season, most prominently Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but Bamford has clearly been deemed surplus to requirements.
Rather than drop down a league, the Daily Star report that he is most interested in a move to Real Betis in Spain.
Although two championship clubs are keen, he may want to move onto pastures new after a thoroughly disappointing season in which he failed to notch a single Premier League goal.
Following his early season loan to Crystal Palace, he departed without even telling Eagles’ manager Alan Pardew, so moving to Spain may be beneficial as he can enter a league where he has no reputation.
New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has not officially taken over yet as he is still with Italy at the Euros, but it’s clear someone hs already started cleaning out the squad on his behalf.
