Chelsea are becoming increasingly concerned that one of their main transfer targets, Radja Nainggolan, wants to stay put at Serie A.
The Belgian hinted recently that he is considering snubbing Chelsea in favour of a longer stay at Roma, but two Chelsea stars are hoping they can sway his decision.
His international team-mates Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, both of whom ply their trade at Stamford Bridge in the regular season, have pleaded with Nainggolan to join them.
The box-to-box midfielder has been identified by incoming boss Antonio Conte as one of the Blues’ priority signings.
The Independent report that the 28-year-old is being encouraged to move to west London by the pair once Chelsea meet his £23million asking price.
Prior to Belgium’s Euro 2016 opening game against Italy, Hazard said:
“Thibaut Courtois and myself would love him to come to Chelsea.
“I think he is one of the best midfielders in the world.”
Nainggolan is perfect for the Premier League, but having spent 12 years in Italy, he is reportedly reluctant to leave Roma behind, particularly given the unstable nature of the situation at Chelsea.
They are expected to make a title challenge again next year, but if they don’t, he would have made a very big mistake leaving Roma.
