Tottenham fans will be furious to hear that Chelsea are interested in Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.
The Belgian forward has been linked with Spurs for months, with the only other club thought to rival them for his signature being West Ham.
However, Blues boss Antonio Conte has now earmarked Batshuayi as a potential signing, according to the London Evening Standard.
Spurs have been hesitating because Marseille are asking for over £20million to let him go.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to spend whatever it takes to get his side challenging for the title again next season after finishing 10th last time around.
That could play right into Marseille’s hands, but Tottenham will be dealt a very harsh lesson if the starlet does end up moving to Stamford Bridge.
Spurs will have paid the price for being too hesitant and it may be a sign of things to come.
Lilywhites manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted Spurs are being careful with their funds because of the new stadium, but that means they are going to have to get used to being pipped to their transfer targets by clubs who are willing to go all out.
