Leicester are preparing to bid farewell to Jamie Vardy as the England striker gets set to finalise a deal with Arsenal.
Vardy needs to make a decision before he flies to France with the national side on afternoon, which means a move could be imminent.
However, if losing their top scorer isn’t a bitter enough pill to swallow, Leicester must now brace themselves to lose Riyad Mahrez to the Gunners too.
According to The Sun, PFA Player of the Year Mahrez is wanted by Arsene Wenger to ensure Vardy fits into his side’s style of play.
Wenger clearly hasn’t taken losing the Premier League title to the Foxes well and is hoping to rectify it next season by simply raiding the King Power stadium.
The only plus for Leicester is that they are set to make a huge profit on Mahrez, who cost half a million pounds when he signed from French Division Two side Le Havre.
Mahrez is admittedly more of a traditional Arsenal player than Vardy, though he may have to battle Mesut Ozil for the assists.
As for Leicester, Vardy may have been replaceable, but Mahrez is undoubtedly the key man in their attack.
Finding someone of his calibre without breaking the bank could be the biggest challenge of the summer for Claudio Ranieri.
