ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has emerged as a shock transfer target for Arsenal, according to Star Sport.
The Paris St Germain striker, who will be a free agent in June, is keen to end his career in the Premier League.
Manchester United have expressed a strong interest in the 34-year-old and are willing to offer him a two-year deal worth £250,000-a-week.
However, Premier League rivals Arsenal are also believed to be keen on the Sweden international as they seek to boost their strikeforce in the summer.
Star Sport reports: “Arsene Wenger is under the cosh at Arsenal having failed to mount a serious title challenge.
“His team have scored the fewest goals out of any of the top-four side and the Frenchman knows that must change.”
While there’s no doubt Arsenal need to sign at least one world-class proven goalscorer in the off-season, we think there’s very little chance of Ibrahimovic ending up at the Emirates.
He’s not the type of player Wenger goes for at all. The quality is there of course, but the Gunners boss very rarely signs anyone over the age of 30.
He prefers to snap up young potential and develop it, while the wages Ibrahimovic would demand are far greater than Arsenal would be prepared to pay.
Will Ibrahimovic join Arsenal?
