ALEXIS SANCHEZ has been urged to join Bayern Munich by his Chile team-mate Arturo Vidal.
Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly made Sanchez his top priority when he takes over at the Bundesliga club at the end of the season.
And Vidal, who joined the German champions last summer, is keen for a reunion with his international colleague.
Vidal told Metro: “We have played together since playing for the Under-20s, so it would be nice to play with him again!”
Sanchez has scored an impressive 39 goals in 88 appearances since joining Arsenal from Barcelona for £35million in 2014, although his form this campaign hasn’t been quite at the level of his first two seasons in the Premier League.
However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger recently ruled out a move for the 27-year-old and is confident that, along with Mesut Ozil, Sanchez will sign a contract extension at the Emirates in the summer.
“That will be done in the break, in the summer. There is nothing (at the moment),” said Wenger. ”I am confident they are happy and would want to stay. They have two years left on their contracts. ”They look happy. When I talk to them they are happy and they want to extend their contracts so I don’t think it is a problem.”
While Sanchez has become a firm favourite with Arsenal fans, an offer from Bayern would be hard to turn down – with or without Vidal’s encouragement.
Although he hasn’t had quite the same impact this season, the Chilean would be a huge loss to the Gunners, obviously because of his talent and eye for goal but also because of his tremendous work ethic and determination – something that can’t always be said of all his Arsenal team-mates at times.
