ARSENAL are back in the hunt for Leicester’s teenage defender Ben Chilwell.
The England Under-20s left-back has been offered a new deal by the Foxes and they remain hopeful he will sign.
But the Premier League leaders have struggled to agree a deal as Chilwell – whose wages could increase significantly elsewhere – knows Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all watching developments.
The 19-year-old has also not been playing regularly even though he is seen as a big prospect – making just three appearances for Leicester this season – although he did train with England’s senior squad at St George’s Park last month.
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri said of Chilwell back in January: “Ben is one of our players and we believe in him.
“He is our future. We are building and looking for good, talented young players.
Arsenal’s England left-back Kieran Gibbs could go this summer and Chilwell is seen as a potential long term successor.
The Gunners are also keen on Fulham’s prodigious talent Ryan Sessegnon, 15, but face competition from Liverpool.
