Wenger retains title hopes

Arsene Wenger will not give up on the title hopes this season although Leicester City are surprise leaders of the pack this season.

The Arsenal manager has reiterated his desire to win the 2015/2016 Premier League despite his side’s ceding the lead to the Foxes from the King Power stadium.

The Gunners trail Leicester by 11 points with a game in hand and Wenger thinks his side have it them to usurp Claudio Ranieri’s men as the season enters its final lap.

“Of course,” Wenger told reporters when asked if Arsenal could still finish top of the pile.

“Why not? As long as mathematically it’s possible there’s a strong possibility. You look at the difficulty of the Premier League, [Leicester] have been remarkably consistent, but every game is very tight so it could go the other way as well.

“Honestly, we know that we need nearly the perfect run. We know also that we have to not just look in front of us but behind as well, because we are being chased by a group of teams that could make it very difficult for us.”

Arsenal take on in-form West Ham United in the Premier League at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday.
