UNLESS there’s a dramatic U-turn it looks very much like John Terry will not be at Chelsea beyond this season.
The 35-year-old central defender recently publicly criticised the Blues, revealing they would not be offering him a new contract – not the best way to sway the club’s owners.
But it begs the question as to where he would go next as there’s no doubt he still has something to offer. The United States is an obvious choice, although the Chinese Super League seems to be the place to move to at the moment – certainly if you’re looking for one last lucrative pay-day.
However, former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Ray Wilkins believes Terry’s future employers could be a lot closer to home.

Speaking with Talksport, Wilkins says he ‘wouldn’t put it past’ Jose Mourinho making a stunning move for John Terry if, as is looking more likely by the day, he becomes Manchester United manager.
Asked if he could see Mourinho moving for Terry, Wilkins replied: “That would be a cheeky one from Jose but I wouldn’t put it past him. He will have that in his locker.
“Whether John would actually go to another Premier League club is another matter. He has stated that he wouldn’t, so that will be interesting.”
Come on Ray, surely you’re having a lend? We can’t see United supporters being too happy with a rapidly-fading 35-year-old joining their ranks.
What does the Red Devils army think? Would you welcome Terry, particularly in light of his very public feud with ex-United favourite Rio Ferdinand?
Surely this would be a step backwards and United should be looking for a lot better than this?
