Although he hasn’t always been in the good books of every Manchester City fan it is difficult to argue with the quality of Yaya Toure.
At his very best it is hard to think of a better midfielder in Premier League history. And we feel that replacing him is going to be as difficult as replacing Giggs or Scholes at Manchester United, Henry at Arsenal, or Didier Drogba at Chelsea – Toure really is that good.
But at 32 he’s on the wane and Manchester City must begin the long quest to fill the eventual void.
The latest midfielder to be linked just may be able to one day fill the shoes of the big man.
The Manchester Evening News reports:
Manchester City are in a four-way fight for teenage sensation Reece Oxford, according to reports.
Just 17 years of age the West Ham youngster has already played 8 times for the first team and was even trusted with minutes in the famous victory over Arsenal at The Emirates at the start of the season.
He is already 6ft 3in tall and when he fills out he is going to have the same sort of physical presence as Manchester City’s Ivory Coast international.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all said to have an interest, according to the report. But when Manchester City want to get a deal over the line these days they tend to have success.
Let’s see the youngster in action.
