Louis van Gaal is clearly a man in pain right now.
He wants positive results for Manchester United as much as anyone to keep his managerial honour intact.
And when big characters get their egos bruised they sometimes react impulsively and with their emotions rather than their rationale.
That’s what maybe happened when Louis van Gaal was alleged to have called a reporter – The Sun’s Neil Custis who recently had surgery on his knee – ‘fat man’ after the 3-3 draw with Newcastle at St.James’ Park on Tuesday evening.
The Daily Mail reports:
Louis van Gaal provided another shocking moment by labelling a journalist a ‘fat man’ in the immediate aftermath of the Manchester United’s 3-3 draw at Newcastle on Tuesday.

Manchester United fans can at least be assured that Louis is passionate about his job and taking the current criticism of the team personally.
But, as Jose Mourinho found out to his cost with Eva Carneiro, there are certain things that you just can’t get away with when you are a public figure in England.
Whether the Manchester United manager will ride out this latest storm, time will tell.
But what is for sure is that the English public does not like discrimination and ‘fattest’ comments would certainly enter that bracket.
