You know it’s silly season when you start reading stories about Manchester United signing Chelsea’s best player.
The Blues did great business to offload Juan Mata to Manchester United in January 2014 for a highly inflated £37.1m.
But the prospect of them snaring Eden Hazard is surely remote to say the least.
Yet the ever eager Daily Star reports/pulls out of thin air:
EXCLUSIVE: Man United plot incredible £65m swoop for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard
The 25 year old was voted player of the year in The Premier League last season as Chelsea won the title.
He has matured very well to fulfil most of that amazing potential. He has dropped off the pace this season but so have many to most of his team mates.
There is a sense that he could be tempted by a move this summer and Manchester United would clearly love to get him at the second attempt having failed to win his signature in 2012 when he went to Chelsea.
But we can’t see any other destinations for Hazard beyond Real Madrid where he would be working under one of his mentors, Zinedine Zidane – that’s if the Frenchman is still in a job by the summer.
Manchester United need pace on the wings and Hazard would be a perfect addition. Alas, it probably won’t happen.
Let’s see him in action.
