According to latest tabloid reports Manchester United are ready and waiting to trigger the release clause of Barcelona’s Brazilian superstar Neymar.
The 23 year old has been in talks with the club over a new contract but negotiations are said to have stalled, leaving Manchester United ready to trigger the clause of £140m.
The Daily Star reports:
Louis van Gaal will trigger his release clause in the summer and try to tempt Neymar with colossal wages, the report claims.
While Manchester United clearly have the financial clout and desire to bring the player to the club we would most definitely urge caution with this one.
We saw in the summer how Sergio Ramos arguably used Manchester United’s interest to engineer the deal he wanted from Real Madrid.
And, with negotiations over a new deal for Neymar said to be underway, we could be seeing similar tactics here.
We can’t envisage Neymar leaving Barcelona, particularly so early in his career and Manchester United could well be a pawn in a bigger game here.
Still, the prospect of bringing him to Old Trafford is tantalising – Neymar has scored 46 goals in 69 games for Brazil and a brilliant record of 70 goals in 113 games for Barcelona over the last two and a half seasons.
Lets take a look at him in action. Manchester United fans: any chance or another wild goose chase?
