Liverpool will reportedly unveil a new signing on Monday as the deal to bring a young midfielder to the club nears completion.
British media outlet, Sky Sports, says that the deal is all but over the line:
Liverpool set to announce Marko Grujic as Jurgen Klopp’s first signing
The report quotes the player, who wrote on Facebook:
“On 4th January I will become a Liverpool player,”
The deal is expected to cost Liverpool around £5.1m in transfer fees but, somewhat disappointingly, Grujic is expected to be loaned straight back to his side, Serbian league leaders Red Star, for the remainder of the season.
While this will give the Serbia U21 international more vital experience, he does look like the sort of athlete who could immediately make some kind impression at the club.
Still only 19, he has great technique and composure for one so young.
But Liverpool fans may well have to exercise some patience before they get to see their new man in the famous red jersey.
Meantime let’s see some more of his highlights.
Liverpool fans: a good deal?
