Manchester City transfers tend to be more straightforward than those of many other clubs – quite simply because they have so much to spend.
The signing of Kevin De Bruyne is a case in point – a top player no doubt but Manchester City paid a transfer fee that most clubs would have baulked at, in order to secure their man.
So the latest news story from The Daily Mail should make good reading for the Manchester City board and fans alike. They say:
Real Madrid are anticipating a bid from Manchester City for attacking midfielder Isco – but will only sell for £30million.
If the fee is a relatively modest £30m and Manchester City do want him then this one should be fairly straightforward – if the player is minded to leave Real Madrid.
He’s a wonderful creator – think of a Spanish Jack Wilshere – but he has been on the periphery of the Real Madrid team for too long for his liking.
We have said many times that we would be surprised if Real Madrid did let a young Spanish international of this quality leave the club.
But he will certainly improve Manchester City’s squad and may well eventually replace Yaya Toure in the side. Although he can also play on either wing to great effect.
If Manchester City can pull this one off Isco would be well worth the effort. He’s a super player.
Let’s see some of his best moments.
