This one has been dragging on for a while, since we first heard the rumours, but it does at least seem to be coming to successful conclusion.
Because, The Daily Star reports that Liverpool’s next signing, and Jurgen Klopp’s first as Reds boss, has now received a work permit to play in England:
LIVERPOOL are expected to confirm the signing of Marko Grujic on Monday.
The 19-year-old’s £5.1m switch from Red Star Belgrade moved a step closer today after he was granted a work permit.
Grujic has shown great potential since he began his professional career.
He was part of the side which won the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand for Serbia in 2015 and is fully expected to graduate to the senior side before long.
At club level he has settled in to the Red Star side after a loan spell last season and has 22 games and 5 goals under his belt for the first team in this campaign.
Grujic is now expected to travel to Liverpool for his medical over the weekend before signing for the club. He is likely to move back to his club side Red Star for the remainder of this season as part of the deal.
Let’s see the youngster in action. Liverpool fans: how soon can he make a difference at the club?
