Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal looked ashen-faced when he gave his abrupt interview to the press on Friday afternoon at Carrington training complex.
In what has clearly been a very trying week for him and his family Van Gaal was in no mood to answer questions about his future – or anything else for that matter.
.Call it a rant, a troubled monologue, or fair treatment of an unfair press, the Manchester United manager spoke of the betrayal he felt from the media for saying that he was to be sacked.
He said that he had received calls from Ed Woodward and Sir Alex and that he was still feeling the love from everyone at Manchester United.
But he asserted that he was only doing the press conference because of Premier League rules and intimated that he had no desire to talk to the press.
He may have moved to put the brakes on the rumours but he did look like a beaten man and we wonder whether he will give another press conference as Manchester United manager.
