Scouting a player once may suggest a passing interest but, when club scouts them three times, it’s worth noting.
And Arsenal are said to have watched the brilliant young midfielder Ruben Neves again this week, ahead of a potential move in the window. The Metro reckons:
Arsenal scout Ruben Neves for third time ahead of transfer
The British media outlet says that the the 18 year old put in another man of the match display in a 2-1 defeat of Pacos Ferreira at the weekend.
The Porto ace has well and truly got his feet under the table in the first team, despite his young age.
After a breakthrough season in 2014/15 with 37 appearances for Porto, Neves has started where he left off with 13 games under his belt already this season – at 18 he is now a first choice selection in the midfield.
And he is not dissimilar to Arsenal anchor man Francis Coquelin. Neves rules the engine room through technique rather than grit but always puts in a shift and already has 2 caps for Portugal for his efforts.
Arsene Wenger has always liked to sign a young colt and Neves ticks many of the boxes. We would like to see Arsenal sign a more physically dominant anchor man like Victor Wanyama. But Neves would be a worthy addition to the squad.
Let’s see him in action.
Arsenal fans: keen?
