Some would put it down to the training methods employed by the Arsenal staff.
We aren’t so sure but it’s hard to remember one season in recent memory when the Arsenal squad remained largely fit through the season.
And there has already been a raft of injuries this season with Welbeck, Wilshere, Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey, Ox and Walcott currently crocked.
It must be highly frustrating for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
But the news that anchor man Francis Coquelin could be out until the new year again begs the question why didn’t the boss buy another defensive midfielder last summer (or at any time for the 3 years before that) amid deafening calls from the fans for one?

Coquelin has been imperious this season and last and Arsenal’s form has improved considerably since they put a specialist stopper in front of the defence.
But it appears to us that there is certain stubbornness in Arsene Wenger who may want to prove people wrong, even at his team’s expense.
The brilliant Jack Wilshere can do a job there but he still isn’t fit. In fact the only fit midfielder who could naturally play as anchor man right now is Mathieu Flamini.
With most clubs we would say that it would be inevitable that they would sign cover for that position in the next window.
But with the Arsenal boss, you can never tell.

This Wenger man is not only stubborn to the point of foolishness but must be an unique specie that will sacrifice his own team and maybe family in order to prove that he is superior in knowledge and foresight. What a farce to have a manager like him and a senile board which supports him.
