Why oh why does this game have to be on at the same time as El Clasico? Because this one could be a classic too.
As neutrals we always enjoy this fixture because, while Manchester City are the dominant force in The Premier League right now, Liverpool never lie down.
And with the new ideas and fresh approach of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool are once more in the ascendancy.
The big question for us is whether Klopp continues to enforce his highly attacking principles in what could be Liverpool’s toughest fixture of the season.
With the high press they could leave gaps in behind the defence and players like Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling could do terminal damage in such situations.
We may see a more cautious approach from Liverpool today, but don’t count on it.
Either way it should be intense and entertaining. We see it as a draw with Manchester City unable to break down a stubborn Liverpool defence marshalled by centre backs who are playing for their futures.
