Liverpool and Arsenal are said to be in a battle royal to sign a brilliant young Swiss midfielder, according to reports from Germany.
Sky Sports passes on this news:
Liverpool will make an offer of £19.6m to Borussia Monchengladbach in January for midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to Bild.
Once referred to as a ‘young Schweinsteiger’ by former coach Ottar Hitzfeld, Xhaka has a remarkable 39 caps and 6 goals for Switzerland even though he is still just 23.
We should see Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s knowledge of The Bundesliga come to the fore over the next occupy of years. There is certainly no shortage of talent over there and Klopp should be better than most at ploughing it for some its best talent.
Chaka moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2012 after a successful stint at Basel and he’s scored 9 goals in 120 games over the space of the last 3 and a bit seasons. He’s become a first choice and it’s easy to see why.
With the composure and experience of a much older player he could be the man to run the midfield at Liverpool for years to come.
Let’s see some of his better moments.
