He seldom lets audiences down and Jurgen Klopp didn’t fail to entertain in his latest press conference ahead of the game of the weekend between Manchester City and Liverpool at The Etihad on Saturday at 17:30 local time.

Klopp spoke about various issues, the most serious being the terrorist attacks and how they affected Emre Can, who was in the Germany squad which played France at The Stade de France last Friday night. He called it:

“A very difficult situation. For the boy it wasn’t the best experience.”

To more sporting matters and the Liverpool boss showed his sense of humour by stating that:

“Man City are not bad! They are a good team with good players. We will be prepared.”

On the potential return of Steven Gerrard during the MLS close season he said:

“If Gerrard wants to train here, of course he can. There is no question. He can use Melwood [to train] before he goes back to LA.”

And to the important injury news Klopp reported that Sakho’s injury may heel quicker than expected but that the club medics aren’t putting a date to the return.

Of Daniel Sturridge he said:

“Sturridge is as fit as he can be after this break. He is not 100 per cent.”

Will he start? Well, we think that he may be benched for this one and be re-assimilated bit by bit. Perhaps we can expect a cameo performance from the England international this weekend. And what a sub he could turn out to be.

As for captain Jordan Henderson, he should start full training next week but will miss this one.

With the injury news in mind, this is how we can see Liverpool lining up.
