With a swell of polemic opinion constantly surounding Arsenal manager Arsnee Wenger, it’s nice to see that he is being appreciated in some quarters.
Because he has officially been named as Barclays Premier League manager of the month for October, with Jamie Vardy of Leicester winning the player award.
Arsenal played six games in October and won five of them, with the only reverse coming against Sheffield Wednesday in The Capital One Cup, when The Gunners put out a weakened side.
The month included Arsenal’s 3-0 drubbing of Manchester United, when they destroyed their fierce rivals in the first twenty minutes and the famous victory over Bayern Munchen to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Wenger may not be to the taste of all Arsenal fans. But when you look at the way he has always handed himself – with the utmost respect for the club – he will surely go down as one of the great Arsenal managers, regardless of whether he adds to his title haul.
