Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger famously failed to sign any outfield players in the summer transfer market and, although he has a big squad, the amount of injuries he has to deal with is already affecting the results.
So perhaps Chelsea won’t be the only big spenders January.
But the latest Arsenal link is for a player who won’t cost the earth.
The Sun reports:
ARSENE WENGER is leading the chase for £1million-rated Accrington Stanley midfielder Josh Windass.
‘Accrington Stanley? Who are they?’ you might ask
Well they are actually fourth in League Two right now after a return from the near abyss and Windass is said to be playing out of his skin for them up at Livingstone Road.
The 20 year old midfielder has played 18 times for them this season and scored 9 goals.
The 5ft 9in youngster has lovely technique and never stops moving.
Whether he can make the grade at Arsenal remains to be seen, but with so many Arsenal midfielders out injured at the moment, he may just get a few few minutes – particularly if he moves to Arsenal in January as the report suggests.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action.
Arsenal fans: can you see him making the grade or is this just another youngster who will spend most of his time being loaned back out by the club?
