The unfortunate thing for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger these days is that every time his team lose, the same old criticisms resurface.
Arsenal can’t beat the big boys.
Arsenal can’t defend
Arsene Wenger is off his chops
Our belief is that Arsenal have improved this season and look like a serious title contender.
BUT they would have got there much quicker and more convincingly had they signed another top anchor man to go with their other long held paucity in between the sticks.
In truth, many to most teams would have been battered by Bayern on that form. The immediate thoughts should be of putting that result to bed and concentrating on their recently impressive domestic form.
To that end, Arsenal vs Tottenham (Kick Off 16:00 Local time at The Emirates on Sunday), has to be the game of the weekend.
Both sides have shown improvement this term and Tottenham look less likely to fold than at any time in recent memory.
And Arsenal have a nasty looking injury list – 10 players are currently crocked and only David Ospina looks likely to rejoin the squad for the Spurs game. Welbeck, Rosicky, Wilshere, Ramsey, Arteta, Walcott and The OX all look likely to miss out this weekend.
With all this in mind, here is our eleven for the Tottenham game, with the in form Olivier Giroud leading the line and Mertesacker and Paulista continuing at the back if Koscielny doesn’t make it.
Arsenal fans: let’s have your XIs.
