The Champions League, Match Day 3, Manchester City vs Sevilla

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Mangala, Sagna, Toure, Fernandinho, Navas, De Bruyne, Sterling, Bony

Subs: Caballero, Kolarov, Kompany, Demichelis, Fernando, Glendon, Barker

Sevilla: TBC

Unlike their fierce rivals Manchester City can enjoy home advantage ahead of the massive derby at the weekend.

This could well play into their hands.

But they have the small matter of improving their position in their Champions League group before they can think about that.

It was another unconvincing performance in Germany in Match Day 2.

But, most importantly, they took the points and things are looking much rosier as a consequence.

But we think that Manchester City’s Champions League fate will be decided by this double header against Sevilla.

It could well be a case of either/or for these teams in terms of qualification as Juventus already have 6 points in the group.

So, 4 points over the two fixtures will leave City with a good shout of getting to the knockout phase.

And that probably means that a home win is needed tonight.

Manchester City have ploughed on without David Silva and Sergio Aguero, with Wilfried Bony and Kevin de Bruyne looking right at home in their stead in what is a fantastic squad of players.

We expect another home win and Manchester City to charge on to the weekend in good form.
