Surprise in Defence: Manchester City’s Best XI vs Bournemouth after Injury Hammer Blow

Home Win

Much like their neighbours up the road, Manchester City never seem to do things the easy way.

After purring back to the top of The Premier League and steadying the ship in Europe Manchester City looked set for a top season.

This may still happen but the injuries to their two best players – Sergio Aguero and David Silva – have blunted their attacking armoury.

Aguero may be out until the end of November – after the next tedious international break – and Silva is fighting to be fit for the derby in 11 days.

Both will definitely miss this weekend but Manchester City will hope that they have enough to finish the job against a plucky Bournemouth side.

Indeed, when you have a front three of Bony, Sterling and De Bruyne, things look pretty solid.

Bony would walk into most Premier League elevens and we think he’s a class act. He will enjoy this opportunity to shine in Aguero’s absence.

Delph, Clichy and Kolarov are also out but Nasri and Toure could figure after recent injuries. Vincent Kompany also came through an hour unscathed for Belgium in the week.

With a shortage of left backs we are going to pop Eliaquim Mangala out there for this one as he is a left-footer and has played there before.

So, despite the injuries, Manchester City can still put a really strong side out and this is their best XI, for our money.

Manchester City fans: let’s have your elevens.

De Bruyne will play right, Sterling left. You seem to have overlooked a certain Pablo Zabaleta too.

he won’t play Toure in that advanced position, sterling will play on the left, navas will be on the right and de bruyne will be behind bony,

Zabaleta will most likely play left back with sagna at right back and mangala will partner Kompany at centre half
