Arsenal vs Olympiakos, Champions League Match Day 2, The Emirates, September 29th 2015
Arsenal: Ospina, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Gibbs, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanchez, Walcott
He has been around for such a long time that it’s hard to believe that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has only just turned 22.
But a man with this much talent should be positively demanding a start at this stage of his career.
He started the season like a candidate for European Player of the Year but has dropped off again of late and Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, reckons it might have something to do with self-confidence:
His dad said he lacks a bit of self-belief and I can confirm that because he is very critical of himself. That’s positive and a sign of top-level sportsmen but you have to find the right balance – not happy with what you do, without harming the confidence.
Nothing breeds confidence, for a forward, like goals and we think that The Ox should start every game until he finds his scoring boots on a regular basis.
But Arsenal should play Sanchez left and Ox right every time they are fit. Because the Englishman has all the talent to become an Arsenal legend. He just needs experience at this stage.
With Theo up top this could be the fastest and most devastating forward line in the BPL.
