Manchester United’s Best and Worst player vs PSV

Unlucky

It was, let us try not to forget, a wonderful game.

And, despite the horrific injury for Manchester United’s player of the season so far, there were some gains for a team which is still developing.

But who came out of the game with most credit on an individual level and who suffered the worst performance?

Manchester United’s MoM

David de Gea gave a fine performance and reminded us why he will be so important for this team for the season ahead.

But we felt that Memphis Depay, on his return the PSV, was comfortably Manchester Untied’s best player.

His goal was simply brilliant – his fleet of foot and pace completely flummoxed two opponents to get him through the tightest of gaps – with a superb finish to round off the move.

But his all round game was excellent. He looked the fittest of the Manchester United players, still running hard after 85 minutes.

He also created more than anyone else with his rubbery body slaloming around tackles to remind us, at times, of George Best in his pomp.

It was ultimately a night of what ifs for Memphis, who could have scored and assisted more.

But this performance will give him a huge lift after a few quieter games in the league.

Memphis has got the lot – pace, power and trickery in abundance. He and Martial will be part of an amzing forward line in the years to come.

United’s worst player

Juan Mata missed a sitter and genrerally underwhelmed but this was chiefly a night to forget for Matteo Darmian.

He has been a brilliant addition to the team but his inexplicable a pass to an opponent let them in for the winner and, overall he wasn’t up to scratch in Holland.

Manchester Untied fans: agreed?

no chance that memphis was the best player schweinstiger stood out a mile with his passing and control. Mata had a stinker and should be dropped, martial should be given the right side attacking foreward position whilst herrera should get the number 10 position.
