Sky Sports reports today that, despite a real paucity of quality up top, Manchester United look set to offload two more forwards before the end of the summer transfer window.

Sky reports that Manchester United are about to complete a deal for Javier Hernandez to move permanently to Germany.

Sky sources understand that Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is in advanced talks with Bayern Leverkusen over a £9m move but although the deal is close it’s not yet been completed.

..and also that a young star could be about to go out on loan:

Borussia Dortmund in advanced talks to sign Adnan Januzaj on loan from Manchester United, according to Sky sources.

With RvP, Nani and Falcao already having been let go by the club this summer, it’s almost impossible to imagine that Manchester United won’t sign at least one forward in the remaining hours of the window and it looks increasingly likely that 19 year old Anthony Martial will join the club this summer.

As for the departures, we feel that it’s time for Chicharito to go, despite Manchester United’s current paucity up top.

He has never fulfilled his potential and, even at his best, he wasn’t a particularly rounded number 9.

Furthermore, his performances at Manchester United this season have been really poor.

As for Januzaj, we still think that he has a future at Manchester United but he looks like he needs more experience to get up to speed with top level football.

Manchester United will surely now invest in another forward, even if Martial arrives, before the end of the window. Sadio Mane would be an excellent addition, as he can also play wide, but Southampton don’t want to sell and this could force the price up beyond what United are willing to pay.
