Manchester City’s Best XI vs Watford – Surprise up top?

tactics-board1

Needs minutes

While the other title contenders are struggling to find form early season, Manchester City are already in cruise mode.

They look like the side that won two titles in three years and, with even more investment likely, we wonder whether they will spend much time off the top of the table this season. Will anyone else get a look in?

It may seem crazy then to suggest tinkering with the formation.

But we think that Wilfried Bony deserves some minutes and it would be good to give Sterling some time in the right wing.

If Kevin de Bruyne comes in then Raheem will surely move to the right, so let’s see what he can do there.

We are also taking David Silva out of the hole to accommodate Bony.

The Spaniard has found his true home at number 10 and will play his best matches there this season.

But we want to see how Sergio Aguero performs in tandem with Bony so he’s at number ten with Silva in his more usual position on the left.

Manchester City may be flying right now on the home front.

But they have come unstuck every season in The Champions League so we feel that they must try different things – give themselves the ability to change things around with good results when things aren’t going so well in Europe.

So here is our XI for the Watford game, with another win expected heading into the international break.
