Finally, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal gives some great news on the transfer front

Van Gaal: A man of character

Keep the keeper

After a really turbulent week for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, where he has fielded more criticism about his transfer policy in light of Pedro’s move to Chelsea, he seems in no mood to play ball anymore.

And that appears to be great news for Manchester United fans with regards the immediate future of David de Gea.

Because, after a summer of will he won’t he speculation about a move to Real Madrid, the Manchester United boss now seems to have ruled out selling the Spaniard to the European giants:

Sky Sports says:

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal insists David de Gea is staying

And the boss himself is quoted, in the report, as saying:

“I think when Manchester United wants a player he shall come, besides when a club is not selling,” he said.

“It is the same with us. We are not selling De Gea.”

De Gea has been made to sit out Manchester United’s first few games of the season as speculation rages about his future.

But, in his absence, United have at times looked shaky at the back with Sergio Romero in between the sticks.

The Argentina international is fairly competent and is still learning the ropes in England.

But, in terms of his shot-stopping, handling and distribution, it is already clear that he isn’t on the same level as the brilliant 24 year old.

We think that Manchester United should hold on to De Gea for the last year of his contract because it would be particularly difficult to bring in a player of the requisite quality at this stage of the window.

Hugo Lloris is the best bet but Tottenham certainly won’t want to do business at this late stage.

The best thing Man Utd can do is perfecting Sergio Romero just the way De Gea was perfected; Since De Gea has no love for Man Utd, they should let him go; At the striking line, it will be very perfect when CHICHARITO is played infront of ROONEY; This season if Chicharito is played full time he will be capable of scoring over 20 goals.

I don’t take anyone who thinks Rooney is not a striker serious… I think our approach to games is rather too cautious. I would want to see Herrera in the fold….he is creative.
