Big Money

According to reports in Germany Manchester United are not taking no for an answer in their pursuit of Bayern Munchen striker Thomas Muller.

German media outlet Bild runs a front page headline on Wednesday which states that Manchester United have come back with an offer which is slightly more than they paid for Angel di Maria when he joined the club fora club record last summer – around 85m Euros.

At 25 Muller won the golden boot at World Cup 2010 and was instrumental in Germany’s success at the last tournament.

With Bayern Munchen desperate to hold on to the player any move will now surely come down to whether Muller himself wants the move.

While he has expressed his admiration for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal in the past,

“It’s a secret for nobody,” the 25-year-old said.

“Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes beyond that which is normal between a player and a coach.

It is unlikely that the player would try to force a transfer out of the club this summer.

However, the money being reportedly offered by Manchester United may well suggest that there is a point at which the German club may consider dealing.

Manchester United may be close to a deal with Barcelona winger Pedro but many feel that the club needs to add another player to the strike force, with only Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez at the club in terms of experienced strikers.
