Another hard fought win and another three points for Liverpool as this new team clearly needs more time to gel.
But Christian Benteke got on the scoresheet so at least he has broken his duck.
Roberto Firmino was again used off the bench and again looked to speed things up when he got on the park.
Brendan Rodgers was right to ease him in and perhaps we can expect the same treatment again for such a big test against Arsenal.
But we would love to see the Liverpool boss be bold. If Firmino is on from the start he can shape the game with much more ease than if he only has twenty minutes at the end to do so.
Firmino has been training for a few weeks with his new team mates and he will obviously be regarded as a starter at some stage.
For our money, he should go into this one from the start behind Benteke with a start for the energetic and powerful youngster Jordan Ibe on the right.
But Liverpool may instead give a player like Emre Can a start as Rodgers looks to keep things tight at the back and stay in the game.
Anyway, here is our best XI for the big one (Kick Off 2000, Local Time, Monday 24th August)
